CSA

J. L. Hawkins Family Farm is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) venture, "growing community on the farm" as we offer shares of the natural farm harvest to folks in northeast Indiana.

Full Harvest Share
We tend the health of our farm by raising a variety of livestock and vegetable crops, and a Full Harvest Share provides eaters with plenty of good food! A Full Harvest Share for 2013 includes:

  • weekly vegetables from mid-May to late September (see below for details)
  • 20 pasture-raised Poulet Rouge chickens
  • a fresh Thanksgiving turkey
  • a half pasture-raised Tamworth hog
  • a quarter grass-fed beef

Fresh Vegetable Share
A vegetable share provides you and your family with fresh produce from mid-May to the end of September (20 weeks). We offer three sizes. A regular share will feed two vegetable-loving adults or a family of three. A double share will feed a family of four or five.  New this year, a half-share is being offered for the smaller vegetable appetite.

Vegetables may be self-harvested or picked-for-you. We make weekly deliveries of picked-for-you shares to convenient pick-up locations in Fort Wayne, Warsaw, and South Bend. You may also come to the farm to pick up your share, giving you an opportunity to see the gardens, pet a farm cat, and stock up on other locally produced foods in the farm store.
